From Tiles to Turdyls: Our Tale
It all started during the COVID lockdown, when my sister Teresa and I spent endless hours around the table with our favorite games—Canasta and Rummikub. Canasta uses six decks of cards (yes, six!), which meant lots of shuffling and heavy stacks of cards. Teresa, who has arthritis, found it tough to hold and shuffle so many at once.
When her hands needed a break, we’d switch to Rummikub—and that’s when the lightbulb moment happened: what if playing cards were shaped more like dominoes?
Curiosity turned into creativity. I started experimenting with molds, tinkering until the idea became something real. One prototype led to another, then came the patent process, and finally… Turdyl Cards were born!
From sisterly game nights to a brand-new way to play, Turdyl Cards is our little shell of an idea turned into something big. 🐢💡
